Our way...

At Redcliffs Equestrian Kate Hewlett and Tim Featherstone have developed over the last 9 years a holistic approach to being with horses, they are kept in herds(which allows them to be confident in their surroundings), they are only covered to keep them clean before shows(which allows their metabolism to be healthy), they are ridden in a frame that is infront of the vertical(to allow them to use themselves to their best ability), they are jumped with plenty of rein over the fence to allow them to use themselves as they need. We are forever getting lovely comments about the rhythm our horses travel in while jumping.
We are very proud of what we are achieving with our students both adults and children.
We are giving them amazing tools to deal with a variety of situations, this gives them great confidence and that is the key that unlocks the door to a fabulous relationship with their horses. Assertiveness with their horses and this inturn opens a whole new view on life in general. It is very rewarding to see them become bold and adventurous instead of meek and mild in life outside of horses.
I also love that we are all very helpful towards each other, its a very special journey we are on and we are excited about what the future holds.
Based on various methods such as Natural Horsemanship, Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance, Academic Horsemanship, Andrew McClean, Pete Ramey, hoof care, Phillippe Karl, Classical Dressage Training we have tried and tested methods to come up with an easy system to develop feel, timing, confidence and a happy willing partner. We have been fortunate this year to have found a Show Jumping instructor whose system is compatible with ours. The lessons we had with Albert Voorn were invaluable and we are looking forward to learning more from this inspiring Trainer.
